NYCC - In The Loop - Feb 23, 2007

NYCC trombonist HAIM AVITSUR was recently honored by the American Symphony Orchestra League (www.symphony.org). As some of you know, they publish the magazine, "Symphony". For the 2007 Symphony Guide to Emerging Artists, they asked artist managers who are Business Members of the League to provide names of artists who have performed professionally with orchestras, but have been under representation for five years or less as of January. Haim was named to the 2007 list. Although it is a little slow to download, the full magazine article is available in PDF form at:

Many of you will remember NYCC friend SOFIA DIMITROVA, soprano, who has sung at Salons and been very helpful at concerts, etc. She will be singing two songs of David Tcimpidis, Departure and Souvenir, next Wednesday, February 28 at 8pm. The concert is being presented by pianist Giacomo Franci and the New York Chamber Players, and the evening will be dedicated to contemporary music. The concert is at Merkin Hall, 129 W 67th, at 8pm. Tickets are $20. More info about Sofia can be found at www.sofiadimitrova.com. (I hear Sofia has access to a few $15 tickets if you'd like to get in touch with her at sofiad@mac.com)
